South Tyrol Spritzer

A recipe from Hannes Andergassen


Place all of the ingredients except the sparkling wine into a glass and blend with a hand mixer. The amount of simple syrup may be adjusted according to individual taste. Then pour in the South Tyrol sparkling wine, and ice, and stir gently.

To serve, strain out the ice and pour into a chilled wine goblet. The glasses may be decorated with frozen raspberries or strawberries or else fresh mint leaves.

Our Hint: The quantity and the ratio between raspberries and strawberries may be chosen according to personal taste.

Alcohol-free variation: as an alternative, instead of South Tyrol sparkling wine, the South Tyrol Spritzer can be made with tonic water, ginger beer (or mixed together with 35 ml (one shot glass) each of tonic water and ginger beer), ginger ale, or in the classic way with a red or clear bitter mixer such as Campari, Aperol, Gingerino, Bitter Bianco, or similar.

  • Around 160 g (6 oz) South Tyrol strawberries
  • Around 160 g (6 oz) South Tyrol raspberries
  • Around 3 cl (2 tablespoons) simple syrup
  • 1,5 cl (3 teaspoons) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 140 ml (3 shot glasses) South Tyrol sparkling wine
